Verifiers
Builders must hire Green Built Home approved verifiers. Green Built Home certified third party verifiers will review completed Checklists, plans and other submissions. They will conduct site visits and confirm that each home meets the basic requirements and Green Built specifications.
Want to Become a Verifier?We need to ensure our verifiers maintain an appropriate knowledge base and skill sets to comply with the Green Built Home Building Guidelines. Verifiers must meet one or more of our basic eligibility requirements:
Once These Eligibility Requirements Are Met, Verifiers Must:
- Complete and submit the Verifier Application.
- Complete the Verifiers Training.
- Pass the Verifiers Accreditation Test. Note: The accreditation test can be taken the same day as the verifiers training and will be
available immediately following the training or can be taken at a later date.
- Complete and sign the Verifiers Participation Agreement Form and submit the
Verifiers Accreditation and $125 Listing Fee.
Verification Process:
- Review the contractor's version of the Checklist.
- Complete two site visits.
- Once home verification is complete and you
acknowledges that the home meets GBH requirements,
submit the following to WEI:
- Verifier Checklist
- Verifier Fees
- A photo of the front of the home
- The signature page completely filled out
After Certification, Verifiers Are Required to
- Maintain appropriate records and answer auditor questions during random audits. Note: 5% of all homes certified are required to be audited.
- Submit proof of required insurance coverage, including general liability, automobile liability, workers compensation and professional liability.
- Submit a yearly accreditation and listing fee.
- Attend 6 hours of continued training annually.
